If you have a weekend free then it is time for you to check into A&E’s most popular tv show, Bates Motel. This intriguing horror-drama is a prequel to Alfred Hitchcock’s cinematic masterpiece, Psycho. Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Finding Neverland) takes on the iconic role of Norman Bates, originally portrayed by Anthony Perkins. Vera Farmiga (The Conjuring, Up In The Air) plays Norman Bate’s overbearing and hot tempered mother, Norma, previously played by no one. After the mysterious death of her husband, Norma and her son move to a quiet town called White Pine Bay to start their very own business. Running a motel turns out to be much harder than the expected, especially when the motel has a very dark secret. In White Pine Bay nobody is a saint, including Norma and Norman, who already have their own skeletons to hide. Norman Bates will eventually find himself in that infinite shower murder scene from Psycho. The entire first season is now on Netflix. Season two premieres tonight at 9 pm on the A&E Channel.
